Every two years, BRIE organizes a Summer School in European Integration for students from the Master and Bachelor degree programs in European Studies. This year, it included a rich cultural program and the European youth event in Strasbourg (EYE 2018 01-02.06.2018) –a European Parliament initiative for meeting MEP with the young people of Europe. EYE is being held for the third time in a row by the European Parliament, this year it has attracted around 8,000 young people from all over Europe. Along with them, the BRIE students participated in various communication formats to discuss a number of topics related to European policies : young and old; poor and rich; together and divided; dangerous and safe; local and global. This year within the group of 40 students were attracted BA in European Studies. For the first time BRIE invited the best students of the new bachelor programme Euro-Atlantic and Global Security. The “summer school  "on wheels", conducted by Assoc. Prof. M. Kornazheva, was devoted to topical issues of European integration and the forthcoming European elections. While traveling on the bus across Europe, the students reflected on the achievements and challenges which the EU is facing, on the different dividing lines, the rising nationalism, the fake news, BREXIT, on the renewed debate about a European army etc. The pre-planned rich cultural program has enabled students to experience the cultural heritage of Verona, Milan , Strasbourg and Vienna . The regular summer school in European Integration at the European institutions in Brussels or Strasbourg is a trademark of BRIE, which invests a lot of effort, incl. attracting financial resources. In 2018 this practice was again made possible thanks to the financial support of European institutions, the foundation Ruse- Free Spirit City and the University of Ruse.
