Bulgarian Language and a Foreign Language (English, French, Romanian)

Students graduating the degree programmes Bulgarian Language and English Language or Bulgarian Language and French Language can become teachers in Bulgarian language, literature and the respective foreign language and acquire fundamental philological knowledge.
Graduates can be involved in teaching, research and methodological and organisational and managerial activities in educational structures, centres for work with children, language schools. They can fulfill functions in different spheres of social and economic life, which require proficiency in the foreign language or higher pedagogical degree. Graduates can continue their education in a Master degree course.​

 

Physics and Informatics

Professional qualification: teacher
Educational qualification degree: Bachelor
Mode of study: full-time
Students graduating the degree programme Physics and Informatics can become teachers in these subjects. Within the framework of the specialised scientific preparation included in the curricula, the students acquire the advanced achievements of computer and physical sciences. The electives included (publishing systems, office systems, WEB design, etc.) expand and deepen the knowledge and skills of the students in the field of advanced computer technologies, which provides them with additional opportunities for realisation.
Graduates can take positions in organisational, management, cultural, educational and methodological structures, as well as in other spheres, which require competence in the field of computer technologies.
Graduates can continue their education in a Master degree course in Informatics and Computer Technologies in Education.

 

Transport Machinery and Technologies

Professional qualification: mechanical engineer
Educational qualification degree: Bachelor
Mode of study: full-time
The degree programme provides professional training in a wide range of activities in the field of transport and transport engineering, including design, manufacturing, operation, testing, maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines, automobiles tractors and trucks, as well as railway machinery. The foundations of technology and organisation of transport processes and systems are also studied. In the final semesters of study students can specialise in some of the following fields:
Internal combustion engines
Transport machinery
The professional training allows their realisation in automobile manufacturiing plants; transport companies dealing with operation and repair of automobiles, tractors, trucks and railway machinery; service stations for diagnostics, maintenance and repair of automobiles; representative offices of companies for automobiles, spare parts and service equipment.
Graduates can continue their education in a Master degree course.​

 

Electrical Engineering

Professional qualification: electrical engineer
Educational qualification degree: Bachelor
Mode of study: full-time, part-time

The curricula and syllabi for the degree programme correspond to the current requirements and European standards. The focus is on broad engineering training and fundamental knowledge of the professional field Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation. The specialised training in electrical power engineering, information technologies, process automation and  electronics is provided through a group of electives in the last two semesters of study.
Graduates acquire a Bachelor degree with a professional qualification Electrical Engineer. Their broad training and specialised qualification allows them to deal with operational problems in electrical installations and systems for automated production processes, as well as electronics, thus finding realisation as specialists or managers in enterprises from all spheres of industry, agriculture and services.
Graduates can continue their education in a Master degree course. 


 

Master

Communicative Techniques and Pedagogical Skills

Professional qualification: teacher
Educational qualification degree: Master
Mode of study: part-time
The Master degree course aims to train highly qualified specialists, who can work effectively as pedagogical counselors and consultants both in the network of schools and in all kinds of NGOs and specialised  state or private institutions for work with children and youth.
The mode of study is full-time with three semester duration. The course finishes with development and defense of Master thesis. The training includes:
social and psychological training for social contacts and selection of pedagogical staff;
rhetoric and personal culture;
psycholinguistics;
communication in bilingual environment;
literature game in the sphere of communications, techniques for creating a text;
intercultural approach in the teaching of literature;
psychology and ethics of communication;
pedagogical and psychological diagnostics, non-verbal communicative skills in education, communicative strategies in education;
sensitive training and image effect;
English or French for specific purposes, etc.
The Master degree is realised in two fields - compulsory and elective subjects. The education provides: theoretical knowledge in the field pf pedagogical consulting; knowledge and skills for applying different communicative techniques and strategies about effective education and development of all students, irrespective of their ethnicity; knowledge and skills for applying different techniques and strategies for individual and group consultancy for overcoming conflict situations in the classroom, school, non-formal group.
The Master degree course is designed for Bachelor degree holders from the following fields of higher education: pedagogical sciences; humanities; social, economic and law studies, and all other sciences that provide teaching qualification.

 

Informatics and Computer Technologies in Education

Professional qualification: teacher
Educational qualification degree: Master
Mode of study: part-time

The Master degree course is aimed at acquiring systemic knowledge in the field of advanced computer technologies and building up skills for using specialised software and applying it in the study process. The study builds on, expands and deepens the basic preparation in informatics and information technologies from the Bachelor degree course, and includes work and visual programming in office environment, network administration, geoinformational technologies, modern languages for visual, and object oriented programming, advanced multimedia and innovation technologies in education.
The curriculum includes specialised and methodological subjects:
1. Specialised subjects – Computer technologies - level II, English for Computing, Work and visual programming in the office, Communication and geoinformational technologies, Network administration, Visual environment for programming Delphi, Applied programming with С++, etc.
2. Methodological subjects – Distance learning, Multimedia in education, Test methods for control and assessment, Extracurricular work in informatics and information technolohies, Advanced innovation technologies in education.
The Master degree course graduates can use their qualification to teach and also to work in all other spheres, which require competence in the field of computer sciences.
The duration of study is three semesters, the mode of study is part-time.

 

Bulgarian Language, Literature and Culture

The Master degree course in Bulgarian Language, Literature and Culture aims to train highly qualified specialists in the field of Bulgarian studies. The course is designed for Bachelor degree holders in any of the following professional fields: philology, pedagogy of education in..., and pedagogy.
The mode of study is full-time with three semester duration. The preparation is realised through the study of compulsory and elective subjects:
Bulgarian language in the context of the Balkan and West European languages,
Language problems in medieval Bulgarian writings,
Influence of old Bulgarian writings on the language and literature of orthodox Slavs,
Bulgarian language rules,
Antique plots and motives in the medieval Bulgarian literature,
Balkan plots and motives in the Bulgarian literature,
New Bulgarian literature mirrored by the world literary classics,
Concept sphere of the contemporary Bulgarian literature,
Stylistic problems of the contemporary Bulgarian literature,
The culture of medieval Bulgaria,
The Bulgarian culture during the Revival,
Tendencies and main fields in the Bulgarian culture, etc..
English, French or Russian are offered on an optional basis. The Master degree course finishes with development and defense of Master thesis.
The Master degree course provides specilised theoretical and practical training in Bulgarian language, literature and culture; creates skills for applying scientific knowledge in different spheres of social life; forms an attitude for individual research and creative activities.
The graduates can find successful realisation in the sphere of education, culture, printed and electronic media, NGOs, in the private sector of economy as teachers, experts consultants, coordinators, editors, journalists, correctors, technical organisers, tour guides, etc.

 

PhD

According to Decree of the Permanent Committee on humanities and arts of NEAA (Protocol № 1 of 11.01.2012) the Department of Philological studies with Silistra Branch was granted a 5-year programme accreditation of the PhD programme in Bulgarian language.
Training PhD students in the degree programme in Bulgarian language corresponds to the mission and goal of the University of Ruse for its development and establishment as a significant regional and national education and  research institution, an indelible part of the European education and research space.
The doctoral studies are in unison with the requirements of the Bologna process and aim to aid:

  • the training of highly qualified research staff in the field of the scientific degree programme in Bulgarian language for development of research on old Bulgarian language, history of the Bulgarian language, contemporary Bulgarian language, Bulgarian stylistics and textual linguistics, dialectology, linguistic and cultural science, etc.;
  • the creation of research and teaching staff in the field of Bulgarian linguistics, who can be recruited for lecturers in the subjects and fields of the University of Ruse and Silistra Branch, which have been granted positive accreditation;
  • the creation and dissemination of new scientific products and applied research results in the field of Bulgarian linguistics and their adaptation to the demands of our national education system;
  • the maintenance in the Department of philological sciences of a high level of awareness of the national and international achievements in the field of the scientific degree programme Bulgarian language;
  • the investigation of good practices in the European education space and their implementation in compliance with the specifics of the Bulgarian education and science;
  • the development of national and international projects with teams ready to work in European educational  networks, etc.
